YOUNGSTERS from the 3rd Salisbury Brownies proved they know how to "lend a hand" when they spent two hours of their weekend collecting food for Salisbury foodbank at Marks and Spencer.

The Brownies and their leaders collected an overflowing trolley-full of food to help local people in crisis this harvest.

The Trussell Trust's Molly Hodson visited the Brownies at their collection. She said: "The girls were so enthusiastic and keen to help people less fortunate than themselves. It was amazing to see them having fun whilst helping to make a difference in their local community. We would like to say a big thank you to all the Brownies and their leaders."

The Brownies presented the food they collected at a harvest festival service at St Thomas' Church.

The Trussell Trust is currently running its harvest campaign, encouraging schools, churches and local groups to celebrate harvest by giving food to those in crisis in the local area.
